Paint Them All
03:46
|
|||
Lately, I’ve been scrolling through,
The pictures in my mind,
And slowly I’ve been gettin’ to,
A place we both do find,
A gallery of empty canvas,
Where we’d say,
Maybe we’ll just chance this,
Maybe we’ll them all.
The boundaries, be it out bed sheets,
Or these New York City streets,
Are our everyday station,
Where we both do meet,
Our gallery of empty canvas,
And we say,
Maye we’ll just chance this,
Maybe we’ll paint them all.
The evenin’, it is our warning,
Tomorrow soon will come,
And though we lie together,
We’re separated by the sun,
From our gallery of empty canvas,
Where we say,
Baby we’ll just chance this,
Maybe we’ll paint them all.

What happened to days,
What happened to days,
we just swept away our grievances.
Why couldn’t we stay,
Why can’t we still play in our innocence.
Everywhere I look,
I do find my way,
I don’t need no god, to give me faith.
Everything was grand,
A constant smiling face,
My spirit was, my amazing grace.
What happened to days,
What happened to all the times,
We used to sing,
How sweet the sound.
We couldn’t we stay,
Why can’t we still lay,
In those beds we made,
Are they around.
I used to fly,
Like a leaf in the wind,
And where I’d land, was always fine.
I could leverage the sky,
To be my flying guide,
And I would never stand,
Too impatient to wait in line.
Everywhere I look,
I do find my way,
I don’t need no god, to give me faith.
Everything was grand,
A constant smiling face,
My spirit was, my amazing grace.
My amazing grace,
How sweet the sound,
What a wretch like me.
How sweet the sound,
My amazing grace.

Nice & Cozy
04:53
|
|||
We have painted all the walls,
We have furnished this new space.
We have settled nice and cozy,
We have made a home this place,
We have a made a home place.
In the meantime hesitation,
Comes a knockin’ on my door,
As I’m looking through the peep hole,
Asking where were you before.
Where we’ve come,
I have now grown further from.
So where we land,
I will flee and I will run.
I am going home,
I am going home today,
Back to where I belong,
Back to where I want to stay.
I am going home,
Back to where my friends still play,
Don’t know where I went wrong,
But I gotta, gotta, get a way.
Well that hesitation highway,
Is a long and lonesome road,
As I look at all the road signs,
Asking “where yah gonna go,”
Well I don’t know where I am,
I don’t know if I’m fine,
Painted walls and nice and cozy aint know way of getting by.
I don’t know who I am,
I don’t know if I’m fine,
Painted walls and nice and cozy aint no way of getting by.
I am going home,
I am going home today,
Back to where I belong,
Back to where I want to stay.
I am going home,
Back to where my friends still play,
Don’t know where I went wrong,
But I gotta, gotta, get a way.

That's How We Do
03:56
|
|||
When I see you in the morning light,
Baby it’s alarming,
When I look into your big brown eyes,
Girl it’s disarming.
That’s okay girl, that’s alright.
That’s okay girl that’s alright
That’ okay girl that’s alright,
There aint no need to fight.
That’s how we do it
That’s how we do
That’s how we do it baby
That’s how we do.
Baby when I look at you,
Girl I know you’re trouble,
With those gentle eyes you cut right through,
Got me working on the double.
That’s how we do it
That’s how we do
That’s how we do it baby
That’s how we do.
Come in through the front door all alone at night,
We can hear the wind blow aint no qualm in sight,
Lay me down slowly kiss me just right,
Put your cheek to my cheek there ain’t no fight,
Baby, darlin, there aint no fight.
‘Cause that’s how we do it yea,
Oh that’s how we do.
That’s how we do.

Man of Simple Needs
04:00
|
|||
Look out my window and what do I see,
I don’t need much more than this.
Got people telling me what I should believe,
But I don’t need much more than this.
Sometimes I find lonely in the night time,
I can use al ittle bit more than this,
And I wake up to find, to see that the sun does shine,
I don’t need much more than this.
That’s who I am,
I am a man of simple needs,
And I don’t have no plans, no no no,
I am a man of simple needs.
When a cup of coffee can give me this bliss,
I don’t need much more than this,
I seal my day with a touch from your lips,
I don’t need much more than this.

Steady
04:23
|
|||
I wanted to tell you,
I had a feeling,
That you had feelings,
You can’t deny.
I wanted to take hold,
Of those feelings, is that bold?
Let’s take our time love,
Slow walkin’ o’er quick runs.
Let’s be steady as we go,
I think we’ll land, some place we don’t mind , love.
And oh, I think you ought to know,
Our time together, should be taken slow,
Let’s have a go.
I’ve searched for the right lines,
None better than “be mine,”
And what I don’t know now,
I want you to show how.
And could you tell me,
How happy we’d both be,
With our arms, swinging wildly,
Our hands clasped so tightly.
Let’s be steady as we go,
I think we’ll land, some place we don’t mind , love.
And oh, I think you ought to know,
Our time together, should be taken slow,
Let’s have a go.

Drinking
04:20
|
|||
I sat down
to write a song
But I didn't know
what to write it on
So I thought about the world
And all the ways that it's been stinking
And then I thought that if I drank
I figure I'd be drinking
So why am I not drinking
I guess I'll take up drinking
So I drank
And drank some more
And I drank until
I passed out on the floor
And I woke up so hungover
And you know it wasn't pretty
And I couldn't take the sights
the sounds and smells of our fair city
I thought what was I thinking
I'm not cut out for drinking
Then the next day came along
And I sat down with the band to write my song
And we passed around the beers
And we began the celebration
And the song we wrote was titled
Hallelujah Moderation
As long as I stop drinking
I think I'll keep on drinking
La da da da da da da...

The Best Part of Me
02:53
|
|||
How do we talk about last night,
The coarsened path of wrong and right,
What do we make of what I said,
Is it the booze or my dumb head,
If I was offered a grand,
I'd rather have your hand,
Rather have you instead
The shards of feeling less than great,
Are tainting mornings new blank slate,
The awful tension that I brought,
Was from the drink and not my heart,
Know in my deepest of deep,
Your love is all that I seek,
The place from where it all starts
Although we ebb and we do flow,
The darkest places we will go,
Will not shade this whole place,
This loving palace we both made,
We were built here in stone,
We're never walking alone,
Love is the art we create
The greatest part of who I am,
Is being the man who holds your hand,
And all I'll ever want to do,
Is something standing next to you
You are the best part of me,
Any struggle we see,
We will always get through.

Compass Rose
03:54
|
|||
As we commit to what we think we know,
To be a caravan of jubilee,
With a blindfold I would walk with you,
With a blindfold would you come with me.
While we don’t know all there is to know,
About this road, about each other baby,
I know enough, to say this truth:
Compass rose,
You are my home,
Compass rose,
You are my home.
Yea we’re headed to an open road,
An unknown highway we’ll explore,
And we won’t stop ‘til the sun goes down,
Our eyes are on the course.
While we don’t know all there is to know,
About this road, about each other baby,
I know enough, to say this truth,
Compass rose,
You are my home,
Compass rose,
You are my home.

Boxes Filled
03:47
|
|||
One by one,
Stack by stack,
Getting off on this one way track,
we go.
Box by box,
Tack by tack,
Getting down to where we’re at,
we go.
I guess this is what it’s like,
To say good bye.
Good bye.
I don’t know what I’m doing,
Maybe I’m in my age of ruin,
What’ll happen when I’m gone,
Maybe I’ll sing a new song,
I’ll sing a new song.
Floors we walked,
Have held our steps,
Absorbed the laughs,
And tears we’ve wept,
but I go.
The stories that,
these walls do hold,
Will be the ones,
I speak when old,
but we go.

Uptight, can’t sleep, didn’t get to bed till 3 last night,
So shot broke down funny feeling things aint going right,
You got big dreams, but they seem so far away,
Restless, stress filled, today feels just like yesterday.
Breakfast, mmm, a cup of coffee and pack of cigarettes,
Phone in fingers, got a blank schedule, feel like nothing’s happened yet.
And you think you get back what you give, so you give it all you got,
A clock ticks like a need in your ear, you’re just waiting for your shot.
But, ohhh, you hold on
You got no damn clue where you’re going,
You just know you’ve got to be gone,
Nothing goes right ‘fore it goes wrong.
But hold on you only placed a quarter on the game,
Best give a little more, or go back to where you came,
Around here you won’t make it if you hand your head in shame,
Get going, put a smile on I think you know who’s to blame.
But, ohhh, you hold on
You got no damn clue where you’re going,
You just know you’ve got to be gone,
Nothing goes right ‘fore it goes wrong.

Time to Spare
03:26
|
|||
Listen to me baby,
There’s something by your eyes that got me crazy,
I wanna feel your sweat,
Dripping on my chest.
Whisper in my ear,
All the things,
That I
That I want to hear,
Won’t you come on over dear
Ooo put your hands on me,
I’ll direct where I want them to be
Go on take them anywhere,
Take your time baby,
I got time to spare,
Oh baby take me in,
Wanna feel yah baby,
Wanna taste your skin,
Go on,
Don’t wait,
I want yah right now,
And I’ll tell you straight .
Ooooo oooo oooo oooo
